It also wants to build a new substation in Tendring (the district to the east of Colchester bordering the North Sea) to connect new offshore wind projects close to the coast.<\/p><p>Part of the proposed new transmission line is planned to go through the rural land to the west of the village, past St Mary&#8217;s Church in Buttsbury, through the western edge of Stock Parish (see the map on this page).<\/p><p>National Grid&#8217;s statutory consultation has now been extended until 26 July 2024.
