A celebration to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day will take place on Stock Common on Thursday 8 May 2025 from 7pm.<\/div>

VE (Victory in Europe) Day is the day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces on Tuesday 8 May 1945.<\/div><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
To commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought for the freedom we enjoy today, beacons will be lit around the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories.<\/div><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
When lit at 9pm, the beacon will represent the \u2018light of peace\u2019 that emerged from the darkness of war.<\/div><\/div>
