Stock Parish Council would like to wish villagers a happy Easter!
The Three Churches in Stock will all be marking the Easter weekend with services and events.
On Good Friday, worshippers from All Saints’ Church, Christ Church and Our Lady and St Joseph will join for the Walk of Witness. This will depart Our Lady and St Joseph at 11am and finish at All Saints’ Church, where refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
Motorists should be aware that Stock Road/B1007 will be closed for a short period to allow the Walk of Witness to take place safely.
All Saints’ Church will hold a Meditative Service on Stations of The Cross at 2pm on Good Friday, an Easter Vigil at 8pm on Holy Saturday and a Solemn Mass at 11am on Easter Sunday.
A Sunrise Service will also take place at All Saints’ sister church, St Margaret’s in Downham, to welcome Easter Day, at 6.15am on Easter Sunday.
At Christ Church, a Good Friday Service will be held at 10am, ahead of the Walk of Witness at 11am, and a Family Celebration Service will take place at 10.30am on Easter Sunday.
An Easter egg hunt, complete with refreshments, a raffle and a guaranteed egg prize, will take place at All Saints’ on Easter Monday at 2pm. For tickets, please contact Rev. Miranda Seaman on 07909 522763.
At Our Lady & St Joseph, a Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be held at 8pm on Maundy Thursday, followed by the Watch between 9-10pm.
A Solemn Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion will take place on Good Friday at 3pm, before Confessions before Easter are heard between 11am-12noon on Holy Saturday. On Easter Sunday, a Mass celebrating the resurrection of the Lord will be held at 9am, followed by an Easter egg hunt in the church grounds.
