Stock Parish Council has been informed that Essex Police’s Basildon Division visited the village on Friday 6 December.
Speed Enforcement Officers recorded seven speeding motorists in Stock Road, where the speed limit is 30mph, with a maximum recorded speed of 41mph detected.
Essex Police stated: “Speeding is totally unacceptable. It puts you and everyone around you at risk. The speed limit is there for a reason. Don’t exceed it.”
Stock Parish Council is working to introduce a number of road safety measures in the village, including average speed cameras in Stock Road, which you can read full details of in our latest Village Update here.
The ‘Stock Against Speeding’ campaign has been launched this year, and villagers are encouraged to sign a petition calling for road safety measures to be implemented in the village by clicking here and filling in the online form.
Stock Parish Council will keep villagers updated as to further developments on this very important issue, including speaking to the media.
