Entry and exit slip roads on the A12 will be closed overnight for four nights in December for LED street lighting upgrades to be carried out.
The work will be carried out between Junctions 11 and 16 over two phases as part of a National Highways project to reduce carbon emissions from roadside lighting.
LED lights are better for the environment and use far less energy to produce the same amount of light. They also last longer and require less maintenance, meaning fewer road closures to fix lighting in the future and more importantly, safer roads for everyone.
Phase One will be carried out from 9pm until 5am between Monday 16 December 2024 to Friday 20 December 2024, with different entry and exit slip roads closed and diversions put in place on the following nights:
- 9pm, Monday 16 to 5am, Tuesday 17 December – the northbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 15 (Webb’s Farm) will be closed.
- 9am, Tuesday 17 to 5am, Wednesday 18 December – the southbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 15 (Webb’s Farm) will be closed.
- 9pm, Wednesday 18 to 5am, Thursday 19 December – the northbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 16 (Stock Road) will be closed.
- 9pm, Thursday 19 to 5am, Friday 20 the southbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 16 (Stock Road) will be closed.
Phase Two will be carried out in January 2025.
